Manual Installation (Docker)

Thank you for choosing Sophia for your Home Assistant conversation agent. This package is meant for those who wish to install via Docker.

Docker Install

From within the directory of this zip file, run:

cd docker
docker build -t sophia:latest .

docker run -d \
  --name sophia \
  -p 10520:10520 \
  -v /path/to/your/homeassistant/config:/config:ro \
  -v ./data:/root/.local/share/sophia:rw \
  sophia:latest

Change the above path to your actual Home Assistant config directory.

Component Install

Next, copy the component:

cp -R config/custom_components/sophia_nlu /path/to/your/home-assistant/config/custom_components
  1. Visit the Settings > Devices & Services menu of your Home Assistant interface.
  2. Click the Add Integration button at the bottom.
  3. Type in Sophia NLU and click to activate it.
  4. The hostname and IP should already be correct, click to install. If not correct, try host 127.0.0.1 and port 10520.

Setup Conversation Agent

  1. Within your Home Assistant device, visit the Settings > Voice Assistants menu.
  2. Click to create a new pipeline.
  3. Select Sophia NLU as the conversation agent.
  4. Save the new pipeline.
  5. Ensure to set the new pipeline to the default.

That's it! Start sending in sentences, and enjoy your new voice assistant.
