Sophia NLU v2.1.3 Released - Device should expose and LLM fallback fixed, plus more
Posted Wed Sep 16th 00:59

Pleased to announce the release of Sophia v2.1.3, which can now be installed via the Settings -> Apps menu of your Home Assistant device. This upgrade contains many changes:

  • Fixed the should_expose check. Only exposed entities will now be loaded.
  • Fixed a bug when searching entities while viewing the web interface through the Home Assistant UI.
  • Updated the LLM fallback so that it now reports errors instead of simply saying it can't understand the message.
  • Made automation firing more strict. You must now specifically indicate that you want to run an automation.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented music from being played. Sentences such as "play Hotel California on the living room TV" will now work.
  • Added an Other / OpenAI Compatible option to the available LLM providers.
  • Ensured helper groups are also loaded from the Home Assistant configuration.
  • Added a check to ensure that requests for the current time or date don't accidentally select an entity.

AI Coding Policy

Vibe coded projects are showing up where they clearly just pointed an AI agent at my site and said, "hey that looks cool, make me that". I guess imitation is the best form of flattery, right?

Please note, Aquila Labs has a very clear AI coding policy that you can read at: https://nlu.to/ai_policy

AI is used in a limited way such as for the test suite, plus web design and web interface, but that's because I went blind years ago. It does not and will never be given access to the core NLU engine. I'm not going to ship code I don't understand, as I simply find that disrespectful to you.

If you want a high quality engineered, human curated, quality maintained and supported solution then please continue to support Sophia. Please note, all features and ideas within Sophia are my own.

Customer Support

Aquila Labs will always strive to provide the highest quality support possible, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any issues. You may either fill out the contact form on the website or if it's more of a general issue post on the community forums at: https://nlu.to/forums/

Thank you for being part of Sophia. Improvements will be continuously made to its understanding over the coming months, and there's some excellent new functionality planned for the future.

Warm Regards,

Aquila Labs https://nlu.to/ha/
